How to talk to children: Today we will share some ideas that to make your child think about their dreams and what they would like to do in the future.

1. Give a topic for a painting.

Provide the children with a sketchbook, pencils / crayons and ask them to draw giving the topic “What do you dream of becoming when you grow up?”
Let the little artists create a visual image of their dreams. Do not put any limits on the child’s imagination! Don’t give a deadline for this drawing.

Let’s say for example that your child draws “A vet in their office.”

2. Understand the work, show attention to detail.

Ask the children to describe in detail what is happening in the scene. Ask questions about the smallest details of the picture. This will motivate them to look at the situation in detail.

Ask, “Where is your office?”, “What breed is your patient in the picture?”, Or “What’s wrong with him?”, “Is he scared?”, “How will you calm him down?”
Combine with questions that develop emotional intelligence.

3. Dreams Theater.

Play different roles. Using our example, you can be a visitor and the child a veterinarian. Arrange the living room so that it becomes a “clinic”. The corridor can be your reception hall. Admit the stuffed dog for an examination. You can switch roles after the stage.

4. Children often change their dreams.

“I don’t want to be a vet anymore!” – How to talk to children about that?

This is a signal that the children are learning about having different choices and looking for what best suits their interests.

Even within a day, children can change their minds on what they wants to do when they grow up. This should not bother you. Even adults change their goals! With the constant development of science and technology, the opportunities for realization become more and more. Nowadays, you don’t have to focus on one profession all your life. Adaptability and flexibility are just as important qualities as perseverance. It is important to help our children develop their own qualities, to believe in their dreams and to know that it is up to them to achieve their goals.
Critical and logical thinking, analysis, self-belief, planning skills and teamwork – this is a great basis for success, regardless of the field.
